Friendship visit from Denmark

Sea and wind from the Skagerrak descended upon Jomfruland Thursday 27/11/08. Rugged weather was the setting when over 70 interested teenagers from Sannidal Jr. High School and their Danish visitors spent their school day at the Geopark attraction on Jomfruland.

It was both "cool" - and cold - but their hours on the island were enjoyable and educational for the group. They got to see and hear about how the natural forces of ice shaped Jomfruland, and how the harsh climate has influenced the geological features on the island.

They saw with their own eyes the famous cobblestone beaches, Jomfruland’s ridge and sandy beaches and were clearly impressed with the powerful landscape. And, not least, they had a nice time socially and enjoyed each others’company. Thank you for a lovely day!
