The first round of the training program for guides is now underway, and there is much enthusiasm for the program.

We have the pleasure to wish Kristin Rangnes welcome as new manager in the GEOPARK

An information meeting for new geopark rangers was arranged at Fylkeshuset 23rd of February. The response was very good, and training of about 20 new rangers will start up in March. The geopark rangers are important ambassadors for the geological heritage and local community.

Between 2nd and 7th of June we will arrange the European Geoparks Network Week. There will be a lot of different events for the public. More information will be given on our website. Here a picture from a EGN Week 2008 event.

Sea and wind from the Skagerrak descended upon Jomfruland Thursday 27/11/08. Rugged weather was the setting when over 70 interested teenagers from Sannidal Jr. High School and their Danish visitors spent their school day at the Geopark attraction on Jomfruland.

Great fun! Cool! That was the response from the 18 students who participated in the Geopark fieldtrip on Friday, the 7th of November.
